I'm sorry to post this again …. but uh, he hit too close to home.

Kinja'd!!!

Good review though, I'm surprised he preferred the Fiesta.

Good review, but which would you prefer? For $25,000 I'd have an E39 M5 :D

I, for one, have yet to be bored with images of your busted car. Probably because I know the story and, probably like most here, I can relate.

I made the mistake of seeing the comments. Too many wannabe BMW owners in there gawking about "investment value" not getting that for it to be an investment, you can't drive it much and have to keep it in perfect shape. But I think he hit the nail on the head. I wouldn't be afraid to rely on a brand new fiesta ST for a daily grind vehicle but the M3 is probably more "special" when you just use it as a weekend car. Plus if I got into an accident, I would just cry that my fiesta was hit, then go down to ford and get another one......no more problem. If I wrecked the E46, I'd be sad that my E46 was damaged, and cry myself to sleep for the better part of two weeks.

Ah, but you didn't hit a tree, you hit a curb! I think that's one above smacking a tree because you can see a tree very easily. Curbs are sneaky little ninjas of wheel rash and bumper scrape.

I cried for a month when my Fiesta was hit. Part of it may of been down to the fact I then got stock with a base Chevy Cruze

ouch. Well my point was that I can get another fiesta ST with minimal difficulty. But if you found an absolute gem of a used M3.....well......good luck.

I'm looking forward to buying a used Fiesta ST when they reach the "Dusty price range"

If I was really the type to need something smaller and less maintenance costs - CPO 2011 128i is a good $20k option. I'm curios how Farrah would line those up? In this comparo, I really think the M3 age hurts it a lot.

It wasn't all that long ago, but I still feel like it was a 'young & dumb' kind of a moment. Which a lot of people can relate too.

Well, certainly smaller than an M5. Something to compare to a Fiesta for around the same price. I just don't buy all the love for the ST. They are pretty stiff and just not that nice.

Whenever someone says "investment" and "car" I ask them if they own a 250 GTO or some old Bugatti. If not, there is no such thing as a investment.

They are all stinking money pits. Like you said, certain money pits can be more special to the buyer than others.
